In some promotional materials, the disc axle and air suspension are directly referred to as the "golden combination" of existence, mainly due to their unique advantages:

1. Disc axle

Replacing traditional sealed brake drums with brake discs has greatly reduced its own weight, and the cargo weight has been expanded and improved to a certain extent;

The components of the braking system have been simplified, the system structure is simpler, and the braking response speed is faster;

The exposed structure has high ventilation efficiency, faster heat dissipation speed, and is less prone to thermal decay. The open wheel end is less prone to water accumulation and has good resistance to water decay.

In one sentence, it can be summarized as light weight, fast heat dissipation, sensitive response, strong resistance to heat and water attenuation.

2. Air suspension

The use of compressed gas as an elastic medium has significant advantages in terms of self weight, which can provide more loading space, improve fuel economy, and reduce comprehensive vehicle costs;

Compressed air isolation has a better effect, which can greatly absorb bumps and impacts from the road surface, ensuring a constant height of the cargo compartment as much as possible, improving driving comfort, protecting goods, and reducing cargo damage;

Air suspension can achieve the lifting and lowering of a single axle or the entire vehicle. When the vehicle returns empty, it can reduce tire wear and save fuel. In addition, it can also make the vehicle better adapt to different heights of cargo platforms, making it easier to load and unload goods;

Air suspension can also protect chassis components, reducing impact and bumps, greatly reducing the loosening of fasteners on the chassis, and extending the service life of chassis components to a certain extent.

Simply put, it is characterized by light weight, excellent shock absorption, strong cargo protection ability, and the ability to achieve single or multiple axle lifting, saving comprehensive vehicle costs.

When the disc axle is used in combination with air suspension, the advantages of both parties can be combined to achieve a "1+1>2" effect. This is also the reason why many car owners who transport goods such as greenways, flowers, electronic instruments, hazardous chemicals, and fragile goods choose to use disc axle and air suspension.

Although the advantages are obvious, this "golden combination" is not without its shortcomings. Firstly, in terms of usage conditions, the strength and rigidity of vehicle accessories are often proportional. If the vehicle owner transports a large weight of goods, it may not be suitable for this combination. Even if it is reluctantly used, the subsequent failure rate and maintenance frequency will add a lot of trouble to the vehicle owner.

Secondly, there are many things that car owners need to pay attention to during use. For example, the braking response speed of the main suspension needs to be matched, water cooling is not allowed, overloading transportation is not allowed, bad driving habits need to be changed, and the self inspection frequency needs to be increased under harsh operating conditions. Compared to traditional steel plate bridges, it is somewhat more cumbersome. In addition, if the road conditions that the car owner usually runs on are relatively complex, it is necessary to use a hydraulic retarder, ABS or EBS system on the basis of a disc axle and air suspension to improve driving safety.
