But don't run hundreds of thousands of kilometers before maintenance, as the worn oil will damage the parts.

Just drain the gear oil and replace it with a new one. So why is it called maintenance free by the majority of axle manufacturers? Because it is much more convenient than the shaft head lubricated with butter, because the shaft head lubricated with butter is very troublesome during maintenance. It is necessary to remove the shaft head, apply butter and adjust the clearance, so it is very convenient for maintenance free axle maintenance. It only needs to open the oil drain hole and replace the gear oil, so it is called maintenance free axle.
